Sports card breaks, or “breaks” are when a single person (or business) buys an entire box of sports cards, then charges individual collectors for the opportunity to “buy in” and keep a selection of cards from the box. This is common practice and 685Media will perform these type of breaks while providing the best customer service. In addition to 'normal' breaks, 685Media is developing a NEW way to break. We call it, 'Ranked Breaks'.
What are 'Ranked' breaks?
Same as a normal break except now we're keeping score. Just like a normal break, you will receive the cards you won during your break. Before that happens, we will apply 685Media's 'Scoring Factors' to the cards you won during your break. This will create your '685Media Grading Score'. These scores will be ranked from highest to lowest in our database for the duration of the Season. Compete in at least two ranked breaks within a season and your score will be ranked against others for a chance at the 'End Of Season' prize.
What is the prize at the end of the season?
At the end of each season, based on your '685Media Grading Score', 8 MVPs and 2 LVPs will compete for cards against each other in a FREE box break from 685Media.
Requirements: Must enter a minimum of '2' separate Ranked breaks on our platform within the current season to be eligible for End Of Season FREE box break. Scores from your ranked breaks are averaged together to give you your final placement score.
* $1 must be applied for END OF SEASON cards in our to take advantage of 685Media's free shipping for our '10' competitors.
How do I sign up for 'Ranked' breaks?
Simply buy in on a team or teams when we announce we're doing a ranked break.
Do 'Ranked' breaks cost more?
Yes. More work for our team, FREE box break, and stat tracking are a few reasons for this.
What are the scoring factors?
